Drygate brewery has partnered with voter registration campaign Rize Up UK, launching a new free beer for young voters. The 4.8% orange & mango pale ale will be offered to anyone who goes into the brewery’s Glasgow bar and taproom between the 9th and 13th of December. They just need to bring their voter registration confirmation or polling card.
Rize Up UK had it’s inaugural campaign during the run up to the 2017 election, driving almost a million young people to register to vote. It is intent on surpassing these numbers for 2019. The group is targeting the 27.2 million people who did not vote in 2017, with volunteers across Glasgow & Edinburgh focussing on the promise of a beer. Young people in London were encouraged to sign up through a guerilla gig in Parliament Square featuring Lady Leshurr.
